- The Science Behind Natural Botanical Coloring
Our temporary botanical tattoos use Gardenia from the Rubiaceae family as their main ingredient. When applied to the skin, it reacts organically with the proteins in the cell membranes of the outer layer of skin cells, turning the skin blue and eventually darkening to a blue-black color. We know that the skin consists of the epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous tissue. The epidermis, in turn, is made up of the basement membrane, basal layer, and stratum corneum. The color only resides within the stratum corneum and naturally sheds with the aging skin cells, a process that typically takes 2-4 weeks. The color gradually fades away without leaving any residue or side effects on the skin.

How to Remove Your Herbal Temporary Tattoo
Our botanical temporary tattoos are designed to be long-lasting and cannot be removed immediately. They will gradually fade over time. However, you can accelerate the fading process by regularly exfoliating the area with exfoliating products.
Instructions:
- Regular Exfoliation: Gently scrub the tattooed area with an exfoliating scrub or a loofah. This helps to remove the outer layer of skin cells and speeds up the fading process.
- Warm Water and Soap: Wash the area with warm water and soap daily. The combination of warm water and soap will help to break down the tattoo ink.
- Moisturize: Keep the area moisturized. Dry skin can prolong the duration of the tattoo, so use a good moisturizer to help with the exfoliation process.
- Patience: Remember, the tattoo will fade over time naturally. Depending on your skin type and the location of the tattoo, this can take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks.
