Blank the Series
Synopsis
Khun Nueng is a captivating woman with a prestigious upbringing, molded by her grandmother’s disciplined guidance. She never had the opportunity to express her true self or encounter someone who genuinely appreciated her.
Following her grandmother’s guidance throughout her upbringing, she obediently adhered to the plan until her wedding day, when she had an epiphany that it wasn’t aligned with her true desires.
She made the bold choice to break free from the confines of her marriage and the predetermined path that her grandmother had set for her.
With a passion for creativity, she forged her own unique path, establishing a charming art studio nestled on a serene street, where she could share her paintings and support herself.
One day, a girl named Anueng suddenly entered her life, filled with excitement to explore the world of painting. This young woman, who was 16 years younger, quickly became a force of nature in her life and captured her heart.
In a moment of uncertainty, she allowed her emotions to guide her and spent a night with the girl. She faced numerous challenges that prevented her from progressing, including a significant age difference, familial barriers, and societal expectations.
Surprisingly, the girl’s response to being pushed away left her with an even greater sense of emptiness, unable to fill the void once more.
In the end, love and desire took an unexpected turn, uncovering all the hidden truths. How will Khun Nueng decide what to do next?

Behind the Scenes
Episode Background
The story of “Blank the Series” is set in the aftermath of the popular “Gap the Series”, which was based on the novels by author Chao Planoy. There is a gap between Gap the Series and its sequel, Gap: Eternal.
Sister Nueng resumes their daily routine, Mon and Sam are now a couple, and Grandma reluctantly approves of their relationship, although they are not yet married. The details of their marriage will be revealed in the sequel.
Khun Nueng, the protagonist of this series, is the older sister of Khun Sam from Gap the Series. It’s interesting that Khun Sam and her girlfriend Mon also make an appearance in this series.
Episode Setting
This show initially had a single season consisting of 12 episodes. However, after shooting 6 episodes, the reaction was quite surprising. Every episode garnered millions of views on YouTube, causing the trending topics on Twitter to skyrocket.
Well, it seems that the production company NineStarStudios has made the decision to reshoot the remaining episodes. They refined the script, addressing any rough spots from the original story and enhancing the logic and emotional depth.
The last 6 episodes were reimagined and released as a second season. The costumes, makeup, props, and lines really elevated the Blank the Series season 2 to a whole new level in the genre.
Fayeyoko’s tidbit
Just a little tidbit: the lead actress, Faye, has been very open about her LGBTQ identity. She had a previous relationship with a girlfriend that lasted for five years before they unfortunately ended things. They continue to maintain a strong friendship.
I am absolutely blown away by the incredible precision of the emotion in Blank. The emotions and experiences of the characters are easily conveyed, even without sound or subtitles. It’s a love that’s difficult to conceal, intertwined with a touch of self-assurance amidst expressions of dissatisfaction and grievances.
If you’re a fan of real-person slash (RPS) couples, brace yourself: this Thai GL drama might just be something different.
There is ample evidence from fans suggesting that Faye and Yoko’s interactions extend beyond the typical boundaries of co-workers. Their intimate moments and secret outings are causing a frenzy among RPS fans.
Over the past few years, the Thai drama industry has witnessed a surge in popularity with the emergence of captivating GL dramas. These shows have not only showcased the industry’s growth but also highlighted the unwavering commitment of the actors to their characters.
Iconic Moments
The screenwriters truly brought the novel to life, particularly in the Blank The Series Season 2.
They portrayed the Khun Nueng as a more direct and honest person, gave the younger Aneung a clever and cunning personality, and infused their romantic scenes with a delightful blend of innocence and playful desire.
NineStarStudios dedicated considerable time and energy to enhancing the original by smoothing out its flaws, resulting in a script that is both more coherent and emotionally impactful.
The chemistry between the two leads is absolutely electric this season, with their romantic scenes exuding a sense of effortless authenticity. Faye thrives in her element, particularly when it comes to the kissing scenes.
They made some edits to the show, removing explicit scenes and incorporating more romantic moments to enhance the overall experience.
I absolutely loved episodes 8 and 9! The interactions between the characters were filled with playfulness and teasing, allowing them to deeply express their emotions and establish strong connections, both physically and emotionally.
Scene of Episode 8
Within the Blank The Series novel, Khun Nueng’s remorse regarding her sister Song’s passing is briefly acknowledged. However, the screenwriters took the opportunity to delve deeper into this emotional aspect in episode 8.
They depicted Khun Nueng shedding tears during the night, finding solace in the presence of the younger Aneung. It brought a new layer of complexity to both characters and their connection.
Scene of Episode 9
In episode 9, a subplot was introduced involving the disappearance of the younger Aneung, which ultimately led to Khun Nuengn opening up and a heartwarming exchange of gifts.
The love between the two characters Faye and Yoko was truly palpable, leaving a profound impact on the audience.
