1. Shaw and Root from Person of Interest (2011-2016)

QueenCinema Rating: 👑👑👑👑👑

Genre: Crime Drama.

Lesbian Couple:

Amy Acker lesbian couple with tv show

Root played by Amy Acker

lesbian couple with tv show

Shaw played by Sarah Shahi

Synopsis: The 4 seasons of “Person of Interest” delve into the fascinating world of artificial intelligence, much to the delight of the show’s creators, Jonathan Nolan and Greg Plageman.

As the story unfolds, the main characters – Finch, Reese, Shaw, and Root – find themselves thrust into a completely different realm. Their mission: to protect innocent “irrelevant numbers” while evading the ever-watchful gaze of the Samaritan.

Review: Root’s character in the storyline is portrayed as emotionally distant. She is the ideal agent for the machine, fully devoted to its cause and serving as its earthly vessel whenever necessary. It’s interesting how Root’s charm lies in the juxtaposition of her sweet appearance and cold heart. With her nonchalant attitude, she effortlessly navigates through any task, be it tinkering with technology or dealing with individuals.

However, the dynamics shift when it comes to Shaw, who is more than just a rival and shares a complex relationship with Root.

When Shaw puts everything on the line to rescue everyone and finds herself trapped in hostile territory, Root’s emotions become uncontrollable. She goes through a rollercoaster of emotions, unable to detach herself from her attachment and abandoning the rationality she once held dear.

Is it rational or cost-effective to give up one’s own well-being for someone whose future is uncertain? Could there be a glitch in the code?

This is the exact moment when Root separates from the machine. Root is more than just a machine’s human shell; she is a person with emotions.

When we develop strong emotions, we often form connections, and these connections can sometimes reveal imperfections. However, it is these imperfections that truly showcase the beauty of the human race.

This complexity is what makes the most tragic romance between Shaw and Root so captivating. I can never shake the haunting image of Shaw gazing upon Root’s lifeless form.

2. Lexa and Clarke from The 100 (2014-2020)

QueenCinema Rating: 👑👑👑

Geren: Post-apocalyptic, Science fiction Drama

Lesbian Couple:

Amy Acker lesbian couple with tv show

Lexa played by Alycia Debnam-Carey

lesbian couple with tv show

Clarke played by Eliza Taylor-Cotter

Synopsis: “The 100” follows Clarke and friends as post-apocalyptic survivors from the space habitat Ark. They bravely venture back to Earth almost a century after a catastrophic nuclear apocalypse.

Review: “The 100” is undeniably a show that champions feminist ideals, particularly when contrasted with other dramas that claim to empower women but ultimately reinforce male privilege and rely on unrealistic happy endings. The female characters in this series really stand out, especially Clarke and Lexa.

Clarke is constantly at the center of the action, from the moment she arrives on Earth and battles for her life. Clarke has always been the one to make decisions for the entire group, unlike Raven who is skilled in mechanics, and Lexa and Octavia who are known for their formidable fighting abilities.

Clarke symbolizes the gritty truth, while Lexa personifies lofty aspirations. These two women, with their heavy burdens, are bound to collide, foreshadowing a complex relationship of both affection and strife.

Clarke prioritizes the safety of her people, while Lexa, in her role as a commander, aims to safeguard everyone. Her sincere desire is to put an end to the war and bring about peace. Lexa breaks her promise to Clarke in order to prioritize her own people, demonstrating that she is not a leader who lets love dictate her decisions.

Nevertheless, her affection for Clarke is unquestionable; in her last moments, her sole concern is to guarantee Clarke’s well-being.

Humanity is a complex entity, with both the capacity for darkness and the means to control it. People have the capacity for both selfishness and cruelty, but love and kindness always endure. I can’t help but ponder if this apocalyptic show is trying to convey a deeper meaning. One of the most infuriating things about this situation is the way the writers decided to eliminate Lexa, who represented important ideals, in a hasty and thoughtless manner. It’s no wonder that fans are still outraged by Clarke and Lexa’s tragic ending.

Genre:  Supernatural, Dark Fantasy Drama

Lesbian Couple:

lesbian couple with tv show

Nicole Haught played by Katherine Barrell

Synopsis: The Syfy series “Wynonna Earp” is based on the comic of the same name. It was developed by Emily Andras and stars Melanie Scrofano as the main character, Wynonna Earp.

She comes from a lineage that traces back to Wyatt Earp, a legendary gunslinger. With her exceptional skills and a diverse group of companions, she fearlessly tracks down supernatural creatures and demons.

Wayhaught is the femslash ship that brings together Waverly Earp, the younger sister of Wynonna, and Nicole Haught, a local police officer.

Review: The spotlight should definitely be on the absolutely enchanting duo of Waverly and Nicole. Despite their limited screen time in the first season, the undeniable chemistry between them is evident. Their initial playful banter at the bar is sure to ignite a flutter of excitement within you.

This particular moment showcases Waverly in a cheerleader outfit, captivatingly performing a dance for Nicole as a heartfelt gift. It is undeniably captivating.

Waverly’s physique is absolutely captivating, exuding health and strength. Her dance is a mesmerizing combination of sensuality and boundless energy. I can’t help but feel a twinge of envy towards Katherine, the actress who portrays Nicole. She must have been filled with an overwhelming sense of fortune during that particular moment.

Once the first season concluded, fans wasted no time in shipping Waverly and Nicole, affectionately calling them “Wayhaught.” Interestingly, Dominique Provost-Chalkley, who portrays Waverly Earp, publicly revealed her true self shortly after the completion of filming.

In the fourth and final season, Wynonna joyfully escorts her beloved sister Waverly down the aisle, and Wayhaught ultimately achieves their long-awaited happily ever after.

Admittedly, the series does have a few flaws when it comes to the plot and editing, but overall, it’s still quite enjoyable.

If supernatural themes aren’t your thing, you can easily find a compilation of Wayhaught’s romantic moments on YouTube. You won’t be disappointed if you give it a search and click!

4. Diane and Sidney from Gypsy (2017)

Office Trailer on Youtube:

QueenCinema Rating:👑👑👑👑

Geren: Psychological thriller Drama

Lesbian Couple:

Amy Acker lesbian couple with tv show

Diane played by Naomi Watts

lesbian couple with tv show

Sidney played by Sophie Cookson

Synopsis: In this episode, we are introduced to Jean, a skilled psychotherapist portrayed by the talented Naomi Watts.

Should a psychiatrist step in to assist patients in navigating their everyday lives when confronted with persistent infidelity? It seems that Jean’s boss, Herry, believes that a psychiatrist’s role is to address psychological issues rather than get involved in the personal lives of their patients or assist them with decision-making.

However, Jean’s discussion speech showcases her desire to push the boundaries, leading to a sequence of risky connections forming between her and her patients.

Review: At the start of the episode, Jean’s desire to push boundaries becomes obvious. She feels compelled to not only address her patients’ psychological issues but also to involve herself in their families’ lives, offering guidance and even resolving their real-life challenges.

It makes fitting that this “unstable” protagonist, who has been listening to SAM’s poignant stories for eight months, snuck a glance at first while purchasing coffee.

There are only four lines of conversation during their brief interaction, which is characterized by subtle observations:

“What is it that you want?”

“A single Americano.”

“Name?”

“Diane.”

The exchange is more elaborate this time around as Jean purchases wine in addition to coffee, flirts, talks, and takes note of other information like bands and tattoos.
By their third encounter, Jean had gone all in, creating lies for her friends and husband and purchasing Chanel ahead of schedule. She is blind to the fact that her subconscious is guiding her to fall in love with SID, just like it did with SAM.

It’s obvious to SID that she likes Jean. She tells Diane at their second encounter that she’s attractive and that she won’t forget her name, and she offers her a “special drink.” It’s simple, really SID, and it draws Diane in.

While Jean can’t do what Diane wants, Diane gives Jean what she needs but doesn’t have. Diane couldn’t enjoy herself without Jean, and vice versa. The fact that Diane and Jean are two sides of the same coin presents the real issue. However, the outside world views them as distinct entities, with individuals preferring Jean or Diane.

Breaking down barriers, telling falsehoods, and having restless hearts are characteristics that many of us actually possess.

“Who do you become when no one is around?” A serious consideration of this subject is unsettling.

I must commend the chemistry between Naomi Watts as Diane and Sophie Cookson as Sidney. Their mutual probing, the electric spark of their gaze, and the flirtatious exchanges make it hard to believe there’s a 22-year age difference between them. Watching their interactions is undeniably exhilarating.

5. Casey and Izzie from Atypical (2017-2021)

Office Trailer on Youtube:

QueenCinema Rating:👑👑👑👑

Genre: Coming-of-age , Comedy Drama

Lesbian Couple:

Amy Acker lesbian couple with tv show

Casey played by  Brigette Lundy-Paine

lesbian couple with tv show

Izzie played by Fivel Stewart

Synopsis: “Atypical” is an incredibly heartwarming show, filled with captivating character development, growth, and an abundance of warmth, love, and encouragement. It’s like basking in the comforting embrace of a warm winter sun.

The narrative centers on Sam, a young individual with autism, and his family, with a particular emphasis on his sister, Casey, who is known for her sharp wit and compassionate nature.

Review: Casey has been caring for her autistic brother since childhood, taking on the responsibility with love and dedication. She has a strong personality and doesn’t hold back when speaking her mind, but her genuine kindness always manages to come through.

She’s an impressive athlete, achieving enough to earn a transfer to Clayton High School, and she remains dedicated to intense training in pursuit of future college opportunities.

Casey’s experience at Clayton High takes a turn for the worse when she becomes the target of bullying from Izzie, who appears to be struggling with her own challenges of fitting in.

Despite their initial difficulties, Casey and Izzie eventually form a friendship. As their relationship blossoms, Izzie begins to discover that her emotions for Casey run much deeper. However, Casey seems to shy away from discussing this matter.

Finally, Izzie reaches her breaking point and makes the brave decision to open up about her emotions to Casey.

She understands that revealing her true feelings could potentially jeopardize their friendship, but the weight of keeping them hidden is becoming unbearable. She’s afraid that if she doesn’t speak up, it might consume her sanity, even though she’s uncertain if her feelings are reciprocated.

As Izzie pours her heart out and gets ready to leave, Casey unexpectedly stops her and plants a passionate kiss on her lips.

Unfortunately, their relationship encounters some bumps along the way. Izzie may come across as tough, but she has a deeply sensitive side. Whenever confronted with a difficult situation, she tends to respond by causing harm to those around her.

Once Izzie’s mother makes an appearance, it becomes evident why Izzie has behaved the way she has. Their mother-daughter dynamic is anything but stable and healthy. Izzie’s life is filled with challenges, such as having to publicly deny her close relationship with Casey and keep her true orientation a secret.

Casey’s decision to be with Izzie is a result of her own intense internal struggle. Casey’s ex-boyfriend, Evan, is truly a kind-hearted person, and I can’t help but appreciate that as a lesbian. Their breakup was incredibly painful.

By the end, everyone goes through their fair share of challenges and experiences personal growth. They come to appreciate the value of love and the significance of nurturing relationships, ultimately making choices that align with their desired life.

6. Maya and Carina (Marina) from Station 19 (2018-2024)

Maya and Carina (Marina) Full Story on Youtube:

QueenCinema Rating:👑👑👑👑

Genre: Family Emotions and Action Drama

Lesbian Couple:

Amy Acker lesbian couple with tv show

Maya (Maya  Bishop) played by Danielle Savre

lesbian couple with tv show

Carina (Dr. Carina DeLuca) played by Stefania Spampinato

Synopsis: Station 19 created by Shondaland and penned by Stacy McKee, a producer from Grey’s Anatomy, the spinoff takes place in the Seattle Fire Department and chronicles the endeavors of a courageous team of firefighters, ranging from seasoned captains to fresh-faced rookies, who selflessly put their lives on the line to protect the community.

As a spinoff of “Grey’s Anatomy” has a total of 7 seasons, with a multitude of interconnected storylines. Watching both series simultaneously can provide a more comprehensive grasp of the plot.

In today’s discussion, we’ll be highlighting the captivating love story between the firefighter Maya Bishop and Dr. Carina DeLuca.

Carina made her debut on “Grey’s Anatomy.” Once Arizona departed, Carina’s relationship with Amelia came to an end, and she found herself romantically involved with Maya from “Station 19.”

Carina’s chemistry with the cast of “Station 19” was so strong that she became a regular character in the fourth season. However, she still makes occasional appearances in Grey’s Anatomy.

Review: Season 7 of “Station 19” showcases the heartwarming journey of Carina and Maya as they embark on the path to creating their dream family. However, dedicated fans are well aware that this milestone has been a tumultuous and challenging one.
Carina and Maya have experienced a wide range of events, from a broken nose to an epic proposal, from fistfights during arguments to playful banter on the couch. Somehow, this couple always manages to come out even stronger. They are the perfect candidates for a nostalgic journey.

Maya once referred to herself as being “allergic” to monogamy. Her intense emotions for Carina overwhelmed her, leading her to betray her with her ex, firefighter Jack Gibson. Surprisingly, the thought of losing Carina made Maya truly understand the intensity of her emotions.

Maya’s infidelity with Jack has left many fans perplexed, but in my opinion, it brings a sense of authenticity to the series.

This is precisely why I highly recommend this couple. The writers skillfully avoid the trap of creating a picture-perfect love story and instead delve into the intricate dynamics of women’s relationships.

I am truly inspired by Maya’s story and the incredible journey she has been on. It’s amazing to see how her experiences have played a significant role in shaping the person she has become today. I really admire her awareness of the consequences of her actions on Carina, her willingness to seek assistance, and her decision to prioritize the relationship over her own ego.

Maya has truly evolved into a multi-dimensional character throughout the series. She has transformed into a more improved individual. She may not be flawless, but she is well aware of her imperfections.
Carina is far from weak; her love for Maya doesn’t cloud her judgment. Although occasionally impatient, she possesses a warm and compassionate nature and holds a strong belief in Maya.

Their relationship is flourishing, which is positive for both of them and provides valuable insights for real-life lesbian couples. It’s essential to disconnect from our devices, as we must confront the realities of life—after all, life does not always script itself as a perfect and beautiful narrative.

7. Emily and Sue from Dickinson (2019-2021)

Office Trailer on Youtube:

QueenCinema Rating:👑👑👑👑👑

Genre: Biographies, Comedy Drama

Lesbian Couple:

Amy Acker lesbian couple with tv show

Emily played by Hailee Steinfeld

lesbian couple with tv show

Sue played by Ella Hunt

Synopsis: Emily Dickinson is the poet who fearlessly bares her loneliness to the sun, inviting its interpretation. She is an unparalleled figure in 19th-century American poetry and a trailblazer of modernist poetry.

In her lifetime, she published only a mere eight poems, despite having written over 1,800. How was her life? Which state was the birthplace of these dazzling verses? Apple TV+ brings her story to life in a unique way for viewers.

Dickinson features Hailee Steinfeld in the role of Emily Dickinson, a trailblazer in the realm of twentieth-century modernist poetry.

The episodes are set in the era when Emily Dickinson lived, focusing on the Dickinson family and her personal journey of self-expression through poetry. The episodes will also showcase Dickinson’s personal development and an unconfirmed same-sex romance.

Review: Sue and Emily have a deep bond as best friends and confidantes. However, Sue’s life takes an unexpected turn when she tragically loses her family. Despite her reservations, Sue finds herself entering into a marriage with Austin, Emily’s brother, thus becoming her sister-in-law.

There is an ongoing discussion about whether Sue and Emily’s feelings developed during their friendship. However, I personally think that prior to Sue’s marriage, their relationship was characterized by mutual admiration and affection, rather than love.
Once Sue becomes Emily’s sister-in-law, Emily’s feelings of jealousy and emotions start to emerge, resulting in a string of flirtations, tests, and minor disagreements. In episode 10 of season 2, Sue and Emily have a heartfelt moment where Sue, pressed against the door by Emily, finally admits her love for her.

In season 3, with war on the horizon, Sue joyfully embraces motherhood, leading Emily to contemplate the significance of her poetry. She has a deep passion for crafting exquisite poems that have the power to bring solace to those who are in pain.

Readers are captivated by the tumultuous dynamics of her family and her journey of self-discovery. Even though she rarely strays from home, her life is brimming with love and passion.

The filming style of the entire series has a delightfully quirky sense of humor, combined with a distinct artistic flair. Their envy, intense arguments, and profound affection for one another evoke a sense of excitement akin to a swarm of butterflies taking flight. In addition, the soundtrack of the show is absolutely incredible.

Upon the release of the series, Taylor Swift dropped a track called “Ivy” from her album “Evermore,” which pays homage to the renowned poet Emily Dickinson.

It’s worth noting that Hailee Steinfeld, who portrays Emily, happens to be a close friend of Taylor’s. Is there some kind of mysterious link or is it just a random occurrence?

8. Ava and Beatrice from Warrior Nun (2020-2022)

Office Trailer on Youtube:

QueenCinema Rating:👑👑👑👑

Genre: Supernatural, Superhero Drama

Lesbian Couple:

Amy Acker lesbian couple with tv show

Ava played by Alba Baptista

lesbian couple with tv show

Beatrice played by Kristina Tonteri-Young

Synopsis: “Warrior Nun” revolves around the captivating tale of a young woman Ava Silva, aged 19, who awakens in a morgue only to discover that she has been reborn with a mysterious relic embedded in her back.

This intriguing storyline is derived from a comic novel, adding an extra layer of depth to the narrative. She stumbles upon an ancient organization battling nuns engaged in an eternal struggle against demons on Earth, with the forces of Heaven and Hell vying for control over her.

Review: The story revolves around a girl who shirks her responsibility of leading a group of nuns in their battle against evil. Ava has been bestowed with the honor of being chosen by an angel’s halo as the chosen one.

However, her challenging past in the convent has left her hesitant to embrace this immense responsibility. She desires a life of freedom and ease, yet she undergoes personal growth and enlightenment through her encounters with the nuns, particularly Beatrice.

Upon witnessing the selfless act of the nuns who sacrificed themselves to protect her, Ava is determined to put an end to the darkness no matter what it takes.

Ava and Beatrice travel across the globe, with Beatrice guiding Ava’s training as they search for the remaining nuns. Ava grapples with the overwhelming power of the halo, and in one unfortunate incident, she sustains a severe injury, leaving Beatrice utterly devastated.
Bea’s conversation about her coming out in episode 8 of season 1 had a profound impact. During wall practice, Bea assured Ava that she would be there for her every step of the way, and she stayed true to her word until the very end. It was truly heartwarming.

At the start of season 2, there is a great deal of back-and-forth and envy between them. At a lively bar, envy fills the air as they both feel a pang of jealousy. Eventually, Ava succumbs to her emotions and plants a passionate kiss.

In the Season 2 finale, Ava ensures Beatrice’s safety and expresses her profound love for her. She carefully ensures Beatrice’s survival before embarking on her own journey.

I absolutely adore the way their relationship evolves over time, transitioning from friends to partners, and how they continuously influence and transform one another.

Other female characters also experience their own personal development and have unique perspectives. This show is absolutely fantastic, showcasing powerful female characters and thrilling fight scenes.

The conclusion leaves room for further developments, as Beatrice makes her entrance right when Ava is in a critical state after eliminating Adriel. Beatrice sends Ava through the particle gate to another world.

I’m eagerly awaiting season 3 and hope it’s released soon. I can’t wait to see Ava’s return and more sweet moments between Ava and Beatrice.

9. Raelle and Scylla from Motherland: Fort Salem (2020-2022)

Office Trailer on Youtube:

QueenCinema Rating:👑👑👑👑

Genre: Sorceress, Supernatural Drama

Lesbian Couple:

Amy Acker lesbian couple with tv show

Raelle played by Taylor Hickson

lesbian couple with tv show

Scylla played by Amalia Holm

Synopsis: The show takes place 300 years in the past, when witches ceased to be persecuted and instead became a powerful force for the nation. The story unfolds in the present day, where young women are drafted into service upon reaching 18 years of age and transported to a location known as Fort Salem to receive training in the art of magical combat.

The interactions among witches, thrill-seekers, and ordinary people are intricate and true-to-life, illustrating the absence of purely virtuous or wicked factions. Each character in the group has their own unique thoughts and positions, which adds depth to the ensemble portrayal and makes it highly successful.

Review: The dynamic between witch Raelle and the adventurous spy Scylla is absolutely captivating. Right from the start, it’s hard to tell if Scylla’s interaction with Raelle is a calculated scheme or a genuine connection, which adds an element of intrigue and captivates the audience as their story unfolds.

After Scylla’s true identity as a spy is exposed, she finds herself confined to a grim cell, even though she was given the option to switch sides and become an anti-spy.

Unfortunately, this opportunity was swiftly rejected without any genuine thought. Meanwhile, Raelle remains completely unaware and frantically searches for Scylla.

Scylla manages to slip away amidst the chaos at the base, only to unexpectedly appear at Raelle’s mother’s house, who was believed to be deceased. This development adds an intriguing layer of mystery to the plot.

The plot twists in episodes nine and ten are executed brilliantly, with a quick pacing that keeps you on your toes. The twists occur seamlessly, never overwhelming the viewer. These twists skillfully showcase the intricacies of human nature; each person possesses various dimensions, and their viewpoints change depending on the situation.

The story drives character development, as the characters in turn push the plot forward.

I’m completely enamored with the witches’ powers, especially how they weave their spells through the enchanting melodies of their songs. I’ve never seen anything like this in a show before.

Most witch-themed series usually rely on incantations, but this one takes a unique approach by using sound frequencies for magic. This innovative method helps to recreate their abilities.

The singing is truly exquisite, particularly during the captivating scene with the three witches at the tuning fork, where their harmonies evoke a breathtaking and haunting atmosphere. Flipping a truck using sound is absolutely mind-blowing!

In my opinion, this series is a must-read for fans of the lesbian witch genre. Don’t miss out on this captivating witch-themed story if you’re a fan!

Bette played by Jennifer Beals

Synopsis: Ever since the debut of “The L Word” in 2004, Tina and Bette have become beloved characters among fans.

Laurel Holloman and Jennifer Beals beautifully brought this couple to life, endearing them to fans who lovingly refer to them as Tibette. Even after two decades since the premiere, devoted fans are still captivated by their romantic tale.

Their journey has been filled with ups and downs, but the writers ultimately delivered a stunning conclusion to their narrative in the final season of “The L Word: Generation Q.”

The original stars Jennifer Beals, Katherine Moennig, and Leisha Hailey are making a comeback in their iconic roles, while also taking on executive producing duties. They are joined by former producer Ilene Chaiken, and together they are bringing back some familiar faces as well as introducing new characters.

Review: A decade after Jenny’s passing, Bette embarks on her quest to become the mayor of Los Angeles. In the past decade, Bette and Tina did indeed tie the knot. In the first season of “Generation Q,” as Bette embarks on her mayoral campaign, the two characters finally confront their unresolved emotions, leaving fans emotionally torn.

Surprisingly, Tina drops the bombshell that she’s relocating to Los Angeles to tie the knot with her partner, Carrie. Although Bette is heartbroken, she graciously gives her blessings and finds solace in the fact that she shares custody of their daughter, Angelica, who resides with her.

In the third season, the story continues seamlessly from where the second season left off, as Tina confronts Bette about her feelings. Bette finally acknowledges her feelings, and Tina responds in kind but also points out that Bette hasn’t been able to effectively communicate her love before deciding to leave.

While Carrie is busy organizing her wedding to Tina, she unexpectedly overhears Bette pouring her heart out about her feelings for Tina, causing quite a stir. As a result, Carrie decides to cancel her wedding with Tina, causing Tina to point the finger at Bette for destroying their relationship.

Regardless of the challenges they face, the two lovers are unable to be separated. In Season 3 of “Generation Q,” their love for each other remains evident, despite the ups and downs they’ve experienced over the years.

The season reaches its pinnacle with one of the most breathtaking moments in “The L Word”: the iconic Tibette wedding. It’s as if this remedy has the power to mend the hearts of fans who were devastated by Tibette’s previous breakup, restoring everything to its rightful place.
