Released on January 9, Chaser Game W: Power Harassment Joshi wa Watashi no Moto Kano is the highly awaited new lesbian Japanese drama of 2024. Starring in this Japanese gl series are Nakamura Yurika and Sugai Yuuka.
The portrayal of the love-hate relationship between a former female boss and her subordinate by the two female actresses was outstanding. I am really anticipating the next episodes of this excellent new lesbian couple in the TV series.

Plot Overview
Harumoto Itsuki, after working in a game development company Dynamic Dream for five years, was promoted to be the head of a new Sino-Japanese cooperation project on her 27th birthday, and she was full of energy and expectations for her career.
She is selected as the project leader of a major collaborative work between Japan and China. Hayashi Fuyu is the head of a major Chinese content company, but she also happens to be Harumoto’s ex-girlfriend.
The former lovers become superior and inferior in the workplace, and the dusty love and hate are rekindled.
This is a revenge lesbian drama between a boss and her subordinate.
Episode 3 plot
After resolving the unreasonable demands made by Fuyu and the project is getting on track, Itsuki is commissioned to model a wedding dress in order to create concept art. And, coincidentally it is Fuyu who is named to star as the rival.
The two are forced to follow the photographer’s lead after they see each other’s gown poses and proceed to shoot from a distance as close as possible to kiss.
Even more ironically, in front of Fuyu and her daughter Yue (Kana Akiyama), who went out in search of her runaway husband, Itsuki appears.
About the Series Finale
The names of the characters have deep symbolic meanings that are connected to the series finale.
In their names, Harumoto Itsuki and Hayashi Fuyu encapsulate a beautiful interplay between nature and the seasons.
When it comes to ‘Itsuki,’ ‘Fuyu’ symbolizes the unavoidable arrival of spring after winter, while ‘Hayashi’ is a forest, denoting growth and regeneration. Their story in Chaser Game W of reciprocal growth and inseparability mirrors the natural cycle of seasons, just as rain nurtures trees.
The cast of Chaser Game W
Starring Sugai Yuuka (as Harumoto Itsuki) and Nakamura Yurika (as Hayashi Fuyu), this drama Chaser Game W marks their debut collaboration.
Their love/hate relationship is highly anticipated because it would require them to have such deep and turbulent emotional interactions for this Lesbian Romance.
The prospect of witnessing this fresh pairing navigate a rollercoaster of emotions is truly something to look forward to.
First impressions of each other
Sugai Yuuka revealed in an interview that she frequently watched dramas starring Nakamura. Initially, she had the impression that Nakamura might be a bit daunting. However, upon meeting her, Yuuka found Nakamura to be unexpectedly warm and gentle, a delightful contrast to her initial perception.
Nakamura shared her initial thoughts on Yuuka: She had come across Yuuka on social media and found her photos endearingly adorable.
During the early days of filming, there was a hint of shyness and reserve in Yuuka’s demeanor. However, as the shoot progressed, Yuuka revealed a more laid-back and friendly side, which made working with her a delight.
In this interview, Yuuka and Nakamura touched upon Nakamura’s early foray into the entertainment world at 11, leading to her full-fledged debut at 17 after years of honing her craft.
Yuuka expressed admiration for Nakamura’s meticulousness, especially how she matched her nail color to her character’s emotional state and the scene’s tone in Chaser Game W.
Nakamura talked about how she meticulously prepared for her parts, collaborating closely with stylists to make sure her look accurately reflected the tone of the scene and her character.
Revealing information about the plot
Sugai Yuuka revealed that this series is only 8 episodes long.
Nakamura discusses the series, highlighting how betrayal has left a lasting impact on her character.
Fuyu’s journey from China to Japan to reunite with Itsuki takes a conflicting turn, betraying her professed affection. Yet, Fuyu is ridden with regret and sorrow, burdened by gloomy memories. As the story unfolds, her genuine feelings start to surface.
Classical Scenes
A standout moment in episode 1 features Hayashi Fuyu dramatically pouring champagne over Itsuki’s head.
Fuyu’s actions and words are harsh, but her facade crumbles when the ‘promise earrings’ appear, suggesting a mix of tough love and playful affection.
Fuyu’s theatrics, both exasperating and engaging, add a compelling layer to the lesbian TV web series.
